Who are we
The International Pulse Trade and Industry Confederation (IPTIC)
also known by its French name: Confédération Internationale du
Commerce et des Industries des Légumes Secs (CICILS) represents 12
national pulse organizations and more than 250 leading companies in
32 countries. CICILS represents the international pulse trade,
notably in the International Bodies of the United Nations (OECD,
FAO, WHO, Codex Alimentarius), Regional Governmental Organizations
(European Union) and International Trade Organizations. It maintains
regular contacts with these bodies in order to promote the viewpoint
of the pulse industry. This essentially means defending the general
interests of its members, notably in improving the conditions of
international pulse trade, in resisting trade barriers and
regulations of protectionist nature.
Members
CICILS membership is of two kinds: Companies
and National Pulse Trade Associations representing pulse companies
and enterprises within their respective countries. As a matter of
policy, we encourage the formation of national pulse trade
associations and their application for Ordinary Membership. Members
have the possibility of presenting, in the relevant CICILS forums,
their trade problems when unjustified restrictive regulations are
introduced in their countries or in other countries with which they
trade. In such cases, CICILS can be instrumental in finding
solutions through appropriate measures on national and international
levels. Members are consulted on matters of importance and kept
informed about developments in pulse trade.

Through a privileged access reserved to its members, the website is
a primary source of information about the international pulse
industry through the Company Directory and the Trade informations
CONVENTIONS
In order to facilitate exchanges among its members, CICILS,
organizes every year Conventions of mixed character. Business
contracts are negotiated, but major problems of the industry are
also discussed. The CICILS conventions bring together trade
representative from all over the world. They have, on these
occasions, the opportunity of meeting their actual and potential
trade partners for business, information and friendship.
The General Assembly meeting in
Beijing, China, on 12 June 2004 has decided that Membership to
CICILS/IPTIC is required to attend the annual Convention |

More and more companies in the
pulse industry are joining the leaders in the pulse industry by
becoming members of CICILS-IPTIC, and we invite organizations
