We
have exciting news to share.
The
international pulse trade organization, CICILS/IPTIC, will be hosting a
Pulse Health and Nutrition Symposium in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico in May 2008
as part of its annual convention. Pulses, the dry edible seeds of legumes,
including peas, beans, lentils and chickpeas, are diverse in color and size
and an affordable source of protein. Many pulses use little or no nitrogen
fertilizer which makes them of enormous importance in sustainable food
production systems.
The Pulse Health and
Nutrition Symposium is will feature some of the world’s leading
nutritionists and scientists, and bring together the perspective of food
processors, international development organizations, government agencies,
health organizations and the international pulse sector.
